We very much look forward to welcoming your child to The Beanstalk Montessori Nursery School.

If you are interested in registering your child at The Beanstalk, we recommend booking a tour with our Principal Anneli Isherwood. There will be an opportunity to see the children at play in our wonderful Montessori prepared environment and have any important questions answered. You will also be shown our magical garden. Your child is also welcome to come along for the visit too (often they don’t want to leave at the end of the tour!).

Reserving a Place

In order to register, please note the information below and then either fill in the form or click the link to download and post it back to us.

• Once you have registered, you will receive a letter confirming a place/or waiting list place at the school.
• We will arrange a home visit for your child as part of the settling in period. This will usually be scheduled for a few days before the term starts.
• There is a non-refundable registration fee of £50. We will also ask for a deposit of £300, which is refundable from the last term’s fees or fees in lieu of notice.
• It is understood that you agree to give a full term’s notice in writing when your child leaves or if your child does not take up his/her place, or to pay one term’s fees in lieu of such notice.

Fees and Funding Options

Government Funding

We offer the Universal Entitlement of 15 hours that all 3- and 4-year-olds receive from the term after their third birthday. This is not means tested.

The Beanstalk also offers 30-hour ‘Working Family Entitlement’ funded places for 2-, 3- and 4-year-olds from eligible families. Please check whether you are eligible for this type of funding. This is means tested and requires parents to apply for and continually renew an eligibility code.

We also offer places to two-year-olds with ‘Additional Support’ 15-hour funding. This is means tested and requires parents to apply for and continually renew an eligibility code. Please email to enquire if you are eligible for this type of funding and wish to sign up for a place.

The Beanstalk’s Daily Sessions

Morning School is from 8.30am-12.30pm.

• All 3- and 4-year-olds should sign up for 5 mornings per week. This will give parents flexibility to drop off at The Beanstalk between 8.30-9.15.
• We offer 15 hours FREE and 5 hours PRIVATE for our funded morning sessions.

Packed Lunch/Afternoon School is from 12.30pm-4.30pm (Monday to Thursday)

This means that parents can pick up in the afternoon any time between 3.30-4.30pm.

• We offer 30 hours FREE and 6 hours PRIVATE for funded full day sessions for 2-, 3- and 4-year-olds.
• Afternoon school is payable through our private school fees for children with only 15 hours Universal Entitlement.

Additional Charges for Private Hours and Extra Curricular Services

We offer many special learning experiences on a weekly basis such as cooking, messy play, gardening, yoga, Playball sessions and Bilingual Beats language classes. Most of these extra-curricular activities will take place in the morning so that more children can join in.

Our daily sessions are also longer than 15- or 30- hours so that children get the most out of our Montessori curriculum and for us to support parents with extended hours for childcare.

As an example, if your child is eligible for the Universal Entitlement of 15 hours for 3–4-year-olds, they should attend for at least 20 hours of school per week. Additional private morning hours will be charged at £20/hr.  If you would like your child to stay for packed lunch, we will charge you for the afternoons using our private fee structure.

If your child is 3 or 4 years old and eligible for 30-hour funding and will be attending full day sessions, they should attend for 36 hours a week. We will charge for the six private hours in addition to the free 30 hours you receive per week. Additional private hours are charged at £20/hr.

We also charge an additional fee for Extra-Curricular Services for children with funded entitlements. This is reflective of how many days they attend in a week (£100 per day attended for the term). For example, if your child attends 5 days per week, the additional fee will be £500 per term. Our extra curricular activities all take place in the morning. This fee is voluntary for parents and children will not be excluded from activities if parents cannot pay.

We do offer flexibility for children to have a ‘fully funded’ place, with no charges for private hours or extra curricular services. We also understand that some parents may wish for their child to attend for fewer sessions per week than we suggest. Please let us know when you enquire about a place if you would like to discuss this and we will do our best to accommodate.

Universal Entitlement – Example of Additional Fees

15-hour funded 3-4 year olds, the additional 5 hours per week will be charged at £1266 per term, plus a voluntary fee of £500 for extra-curricular services.

Working Family Eligibility – Example of Additional Fees

For 30-hour funded 2-, 3- and 4-year-olds, the additional 6 hours per week will be charged at £1519 per term, plus a voluntary fee of £500 for extra-curricular services.

For 2- year- olds who are not eligible for any funding, we will continue to charge our private school fees which are inclusive of our Montessori curriculum and extra-curricular activities. This also applies to children paying for afternoon sessions or children who come to us during the term in which they turn 3 years old.
